Alex Husner

Alex Husner (previously Alex O'Neil) is a marketing strategist, podcast host, and lifelong equestrian whose work sits at the intersection of business, storytelling, and reinvention.

As a Fractional CMO and strategic advisor in the vacation rental industry, Alex has built a reputation for helping companies grow with intention—combining brand, content, and data-driven strategy to drive meaningful results. She is the co-host of the Alex & Annie podcast, ranked among the top hospitality podcasts globally, where she leads conversations with industry leaders on the future of business, technology, and leadership.

But her story starts long before boardrooms and conference stages—back in the barns of New Hampshire.

Alex grew up riding at Cricket Hill Farm, where she trained under Michael Richardson and Lisa Jensen, alongside fellow riders David and Kristen Cater. Those early years shaped not only her foundation as a rider, but her work ethic, discipline, and love for the sport that would stay with her—even during a decades-long break.

After more than 25 years away, Alex returned to the saddle with a new perspective—no longer chasing perfection, but embracing the process. Today, she rides at Meraki Farm with trainer Andrea Harry and recently purchased a 5-gaited colt from Northern Kiss Farm, Son of a Kiss, affectionately known as “Chapstick.”

Her return to riding has become something bigger than a personal journey. Through her platform, The Long Ride Home, Alex shares the unfiltered reality of coming back to the sport—rebuilding confidence, navigating setbacks, and rediscovering joy in the ride. It’s a story rooted in growth, patience, and the willingness to start again.

Joining her on this journey are two of the people who have been there from the beginning: her husband, Michael, and her father, Gary O’Neil, who first supported her riding as a child and now gets to witness her return full circle.

Whether she’s advising companies, hosting conversations, or back in the barn, Alex’s work is grounded in the same belief: growth doesn’t come from staying where you’re comfortable—it comes from showing up, doing the work, and being willing to evolve.
